Cabcom

Cabcom (Scotland) Ltd was established in 1998 with the amalgamation of Radiotech Services and Radiocab Taxi Services combining 60 years experience of both radio communications and taxi meter services.

In December 1998, we moved into our premises in New Lairdship Yards giving us a covered garage facility and workshop. All work carried out is guaranteed and we are fully insured for both public liability and motor traders insurance i.e. any vehicles we drive are covered under our insurance policy not yours.

Good Backup
Over the years we have built up a very good relationship with various suppliers and are authorised agents for ICOM Uk Ltd, Tait Europe Ltd for radio communications and Aquila taxi meters, Halda meters and Digitax taximeters. Our customer base is very varied with service and supply of equipment to the M.O.D, local councils, Health Boards, couriers, Security companies and large and small taxi companies, many of whom have taken advantage of our maintenance contracts.

We can supply airtime on our business repeater systems and hire 2-way radios from a complete package to a couple of handhelds. Also we sell both second hand meters and radio equipment which come complete with a warranty. If needed, we can source or service other radios from different suppliers or if possible, we can repair your existing equipment.

Experience

With our wide experience in the radio communications sector, we can look after both old and new technology. For example, we fitted the entire fleet of Computer Cab Edinburgh with a new radio system based on GPS location technology and also their sister company, Onward Travel with a new system based on cellular technology which included PDA and GPRS. Both these companies were so confident in the service we provide, they asked us to maintain these systems on a contract basis.

We are sole suppliers and taxi meter installers to Cabs Direct for the new black E7 cabs they supply in Edinburgh. In November 2006, we became worldwide with a request from Aquila Taxi Meters for an engineer to assist in the installation of meters in Zimbabwe.

Finally ...
We are members of the Taxi Meter Federation which gives us invaluable information on the proper installation of taxi meters in both old and modern vehicles.
